Hey folks! I am looking for a trusted Backend as a Service (BaaS) provider to build and scale gaming applications in 2026. If you have worked on anything from multiplayer or live-ops games to mobile or indie projects, I would like to know which services you used, what impressed you, and what limitations you ran into. In this regard, I shortlisted multiple BaaS platforms for games here, including Back4app, Azure PlayFab, Photon Engine, and AWS GameLift. First of all, if we talk about Azure PlayFab, it is a full-fledged game backend that lets you easily manage player accounts, analytics, matchmaking, and live operations tools, etc. Another option under consideration is Back4App. This flexible, open-source platform comes with no vendor lock-in and is suited for indie developers and bespoke backend systems. It also provides excellent support for multiplayer auth, serverless functions, and real-time database management. With Amazon's expanded ecosystem, AWS GameLift is another option. All in all, I am here to know your thoughts on it.
