The Suicide of Rachel Foster intrigued me at the same time with his ***** ***** in the trailer. With a title like this, One-O-One Games makes a statement a little and I really wanted to deepen. And if I'm really honest here, there is a very strong Fire watch atmosphere that I just had to check by myself. What begins as a potential psychological thriller is transformed more into a mystery game on walking simulator and although it suffers a bit of a crisis of identity accordingly, history will attract you directly. The Suicide of Rachel Foster begins on a sad note. We meet Nicole, a young woman who tries to achieve the last wishes of her mother, not only to return to the family hotel of Montana and sell it, but also to bring it honorable with the family of Rachel. Now, you may be wondering who Rachel is, especially since his name is in the title of the game. It's a minor girl with whom Nicole's father, Leonard, had sex and who then fertilized, who commits suicide. What is supposed to be a rather ordinary business of going around the old hotel in deterioration turns into much more. While a snowstorm arrives, Nicole has no choice but to stay in this strange hotel and discover a 10-year-old mystery. However, she is not entirely alone because a young FEMA agent named Irving helps him guide him throughout the way through an old phone. What is crazy is the number of secrets that the walls of the hotel are kept. Do not worry, you will discover them all for the 3 to 5 hours needed to reach the last scene. The gameplay is quite simple. You will have to walk, explore the Timberland, add objects to your inventory and discover the claims surrounding the death of Rachel. Well, that and talking to Irving via the old phone as the only way to advance the gameplay focused on narration. Apart from that, there is not much to follow outside the constant stream of interesting information about the family of Nicole and Rachel. Where Rachel Foster's suicide really shines, that's how beautiful it is and rings. The level of detail that entered the design of the hotel is damn impressive, and it is also not an easy task. The hotel is big enough, and you will have to rely on your memory to find your way. Every aspect of the hotel really comes out that the building is, although not quite haunted, very, very scary. Due to the way everything is realistic, this independent title offers a level of realism that I had not seen for a while in a game of this size. Which keeps players even more immersed in the beginning of the beginning at the end, it is not only the graphic prowess shown, but also the beautiful sound design. You become nervous when you hear the shutters slamming against the windows or the floor crack behind you. You hear the wind scream outside and strange and strange noises throughout the hotel. Add subtle music in the mix that follows each turn and turn in the game and there is absolutely nothing to complain about here. I can only imagine how real the game would be in virtual reality! And although the sound is perfect, it's the beautiful dubbing that really sells realism. That's what really makes the story convincingly. Of course, some writing sometimes seems a bit forced, but it is the execution that deserves applause. Honestly, the unconventional relationship between Irving and Nicole and how their dubbing is dripping emotion at all good times is one of my favorite games from all the game. That said, I have mixed emotions after completing Rachel Foster's suicide. Although the story itself is quite nice and very well executed, and that the sound and graphic designs are breathtaking, some topics are simply serious. For a game so well-designed, where you can clearly say the level of detail in the design of the hotel and characters, it is disappointing. Without revealing no great history, all the narration is centered on Rachel and his relationship with Leonard. Although I desperately want to know more about it, and that I am determined to continue playing the game to discover it, One-O-One Games is only scratching the rape of an innocent girl. Instead, history depicts the whole relationship between Nicole's father, Leonard, and Rachel as a mere deal. I would have liked they called Leonard for what he was: a pedophile. Instead of focusing on the fact that Rachel is the victim, the story focuses on Leonard's Love for her. It's disgusting and simply do not suck me. Regardless of some interesting creative choices, some heavy themes left largely unexplored and a bilateral approach to the game that sometimes seems a little disjointed, the Suicide of Rachel Foster is quite well executed. This does not mean that there are no other minor problems. There are occasional problems that arise who interrupt the immersion that all the game built from the beginning, and there is very little value of repayable that accompanies the suicide of Rachel Foster. Despite different purposes, it is not possible to jump forward and return to the end to experience it without starting through the beginning. I would usually say to do it, but here I'm not sure that it's worth it. If you do not know if you can handle some uncomfortable and disturbing topics, it's certainly not the game for you. If you are looking for a scary and dark mystery in which you lose for a few hours, or if you are curious to know who is Rachel Foster, it's worth playing.
