An explosion proof version of the Yale Global King electric wire rope hoist is now available, intended for use for Division 2, Class 1—groups B, C and D— applications.

New York-based material handling equipment manufacturer Columbus McKinnon said that new explosion proof version of the Global King hoist can include features such as explosion-proof rated motors, metal clad electrical cable and sealed fittings along with special enclosures and intrinsically safe control stations.
The explosion proof hoist models are available in a variety of capacities as both under-hung and top-running trolley versions, the company added.
This time last year Columbus McKinnon announced that it was adding new features and design improvements to its Lodestar ***** for easier maintenance. The company said the overload clutch would, from December 2011, be located outside the transmission, and provide easier access for maintenance service people.
