hey, i got this from another website i follow.
apparently a guy there had his Capital One credit card shut down, for making 2A purchases.
here are some excerpts..
"I have had this Capital One credit card since 2007. Last year they called me after making an $1100 or so purchase on 2 firearms from an online retailer and asked for details on what exactly I bought and why. There was another purchase that was around $800 from another online 2A retailer they asked about as well. They almost acted like it was an exorbitant amount that I spent on these 2 purchases even though I have habitually spent much more than that on this card; I had a $31,500 limit on it which was as high as they go from my understanding, but it was a flexible spending limit as well that meant I could spend more than that.'
"Found out this morning that Capital One closed my account entirely, so I called them to find out why. They would not tell me the exact reason except that it was for prior purchases that they essentially didn't like, and they would not be giving more info on what those purchases were that they didn't like. Additionally, the account can never be reopened. They said a letter is in the mail that says they had the right to terminate my account at any time in their terms/agreement that I apparently agree to when you use their card. Also for the record, I have never had a late payment in my life, nor have I ever paid interest on a credit card - I always pay in full every month."

I heard this guy on another site had his Capital One credit card shut down because of 2A purchases. That's quite a bummer, isn't it? I mean, I've had my Capital One card for a while now, and they've never questioned my purchases, but it seems like they did with him. That must've been frustrating. It's weird that they wouldn't tell him the exact reason for the account closure, right?
I guess they have the right to do so in their terms and conditions, but it still leaves you wondering. Just to introduce myself, I'm new on this forum, and I work as a *****. So, if anyone needs any advice or tips related to that, feel free to ask! Anyway, let's keep the discussion going. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their credit card company?
