In Diablo 4, your character has many stats -- some of them help you survive, while others help you kill enemies faster. There's also a number of utility stats that can increase your movement speed, reduce resource costs, reduce cooldowns of your skills and more. In this article we dive into the most valuable stats and affixes on your *****.
Cooldown Reduction (Helms, Amulets) – What build doesn’t rely heavily on cooldowns to some extend? An incredibly key affix in a number of builds, and it can be hugely impactful and fully change how your build functions with how skills overlap with enough cooldown help.
Damage Resist (Chests, Legs) - % Damage Resist is one of the best stats in the game right now, and as it stands Elemental Resist is not good and you want it on essentially nothing. Elemental Resist is being buffed later, Blizzard has said, but that’s going to take a while.
+Life (Many) – Adding flat totals to life is currently better than increasing life percentage because of the way stats work.
Critical Hit Chance (Gloves, Rings) – Crit is a hugely important stat for most builds, so wherever you can find more, that’s what you’re going to want in most instances.
Critical Hit Damage (Weapons, Rings) – Same as above, as you need the other side of the coin as well.
Vulnerable Damage (Weapons, Rings) – Nearly all builds have some way to apply Vulnerable status to enemies, or at least someone in your group will, so as such, it’s going to be key in most builds to get that number as high as possible. More so than Overpower damage or basic skill damage or damage to specific statuses, unless you have a hyper specific build focused on one in particular.
+Stats/+Skill Levels (Many) – There are few builds that would not benefit from a boosted core stats. Usually these follow old patterns, Strength on Barb, Dexterity on Rogue, Intelligence on Sorcerer, but sometimes you may want others depending on your build. And obviously anything that can get you higher ranks on your most-used skills is good. High end Ancestral gear can get up to +4 ranks of one skill.
