Self indulgent self congratulation, but my wife has just received confirmation of her Indefinite Leave to Remain.
No more applying for Visas which, let me tell you, is an expensive and stressful process.
A friend of ours didnt realise just how much it cost and his response on finding out it wasnt just a couple hundred quid each time was "fucking hell, how much!?".
Spending the money was the easy part.
This is as compared to navigating UKVI, attempting to have queries answered, the current state of priority appointments (I would not even consider posting this stuff off and waiting 6 months for a decision) etc etc.
And even when you KNOW you've done everything right, have checked, double checked and triple checked your documents, scans etc, you still worry that somebody is going to Decide to be a jobsworth or have a bad day.
I honestly believe, but cannot prove,you stand a better chance with these visas the less time they spend in the system and the more money you spend for priority services. I'm betting the priority services are a case of "do they have a good job and salary? Is the police record clean/non-existant? Fine, granted".
