Data from China Customs shows that in 2021, ***** imported various types of cranes from China worth US$36.147 million, down 40.46% from US$60.705 million in 2020. Contrary to the shrinking Saudi crane market, the bilateral import and export volume of goods between China and Saudi Arabia in 2021 will be 87,309,590,000 US dollars, an increase of 20,177,477,900 US dollars compared with the same period in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 30%. The reason for the drop in demand for cranes in Saudi Arabia is unknown. Looking at the timeline, the import value of most months in 2021 is lower than the same period in 2020. We checked the import data in 2019 and found that the total import value in 2019 was US$51.063 million, slightly lower than the total import value in 2020. Similar to 2020, there was an explosive import in August 2019, with an import value of $19.548 million, while that in October 2020 was $15.912 million.
