A couple of days back, While backing up from parking(I would have been at 5 km per hr), I just brushed on the neighbouring car. It was so narrow and minor that i immidiately came out and verified that there is absolutely no scratch
However since the car owner, who wasnt in the car, came out to check, I left him my contact number, not the license details,. No cops called.,.. episode over

Yesterday got the collision center calling me and telling that i need to report with my car and my side of story. Before I could even go, the impacted party called and asked me to settle at a body shop. I am pretty sure that there is nothing for body shop to fix however he also mentioned that a baby in the car started crying.. this made me realize that they are upto something.
Not sure what should i do. My car is insured
Should I report to collision center.,.. anyway they have reported it and I am supposed to reach there anyway
SHould I deal with and close the matter by paying them what they will be claiming
The only thing they have is my mobile number

Hey there, sorry to hear about your situation. It's really not fair that you're being blackmailed over minor scratches. It's important to remember that blackmail is illegal and you don't have to give in to the demands of the impacted party. It's best to seek legal advice and report the blackmail to the authorities. I highly recommend visiting ***** for more information on what you can do in this situation. Remember, it's important to stand up for yourself and not let someone take advantage of you. Best of luck!
